Primary Responsibilities
The primary duty of Project Manager / Sr. Roadway Engineer is to pursue, manage and deliver of transportation projects for MoDOT and municipal clients in the St. Louis area. This position requires a blend of both project management capabilities as well as the ability to perform, oversee and direct roadway and highway design services. Project involvement will range from leading feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase. Experience should include urban and rural roadway and highway projects, traffic management, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans. System and Service interchange design experience are desirable but not required for this position. Coordination of multi-discipline project inclusive of survey, grading, drainage, structures, and utilities and layout of various site items is a requirement. Experience with supervising work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians is desired but not required for this position.
Project Management, quality assurance/control checks, and technical review experience are desired but not required. The successful candidate will receive project management training at HDR. Marketing and project pursuit experience are desired but not required. The position would also involve preparation and negotiation of proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules. It would also include day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, supporting and advising junior engineers and technical staff, writing reports and technical memos, coordinating with sub-consultants, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget. Project Manager / Sr. Roadway Engineer will also be performing other duties as needed.
