The basics of this position:

Under general direction, performs application installations, upgrades and administration for district wide ERP-application on Linux systems. Primarily responsible to keep the ERP system itself upgraded and current per College needs. Performs upgrades and maintenance of Oracle components of the ERP in all environments including troubleshooting associated problems and enforcing database security practices.

What you'll do:

  • Upgrades and maintains configuration of vendor-provided upgrade tools for all environments.
  • Uses vendor-provide upgrade tool to upgrade and patch ERP application in all environments and maintain.
  • Implements new Banner application versions and components; updates, applies application fixes, and monitors servers for active and required processes.
  • Troubleshoots ERP application problems for both back-office and self-service users; recommends and implements solutions and assists team members by performing or assigning tasks that support enterprise, departmental or site projects.
  • Assists in educating college employees with technical problems related to administrative software and databases.
  • Administer Banner servers during application upgrades and patching and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assists team by updating, applying fixes, monitoring and tuning the relational databases for a variety of servers running Linux operating systems.
  • Monitors and enforces security practices for the Banner enterprise servers.
  • Creates and maintains user and system accounts in accordance with college policy and industry best practices for data security. Sets user privileges and access controls within the database environment.
  • Diagnose and repair production application program problems while releasing them to production.
  • Participates in the formal system change management process and is responsible for ensuring that database changes are tested and perform as intended.
  • Works with Development to package the releases and deploy them in to production environment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.





Education, experience, and other requirements:

Bachelor's Degree is required. Three (3) or more years of relevant full time experience supporting an enterprise-level administrative system is required. Demonstrated knowledge of Banner system is a plus. Certification in systems and applications to be supported may be considered an equivalency for experience requirements.
