The basics of this position:

Under general direction, performs application installations, upgrades and administration for district-wide ERP-related applications on Linux systems. Configures, maintains and troubleshoots multiple applications and their components in all environments. Maintains technical currency for these supported applications.

What you'll do:

  • Installs and upgrades ERP-related applications on non-production and production Linux systems.
  • Administers and configures applications for optimal efficiency and high availability.
  • Maintains technical currency of applications and necessary components by monitoring vendor sites and communications to keep systems in fully-supported configurations.
  • Ensures applications are available as needed by monitoring status and reviewing / managing application logs.
  • Provides direct support to district users of applications to meet service level agreement (SLA) objectives.
  • Troubleshoot application configuration issues by reviewing log files and vendor support.
  • Maintains documentation as a permanent record maximizing maintainability of systems. Follows current protocols for documentation; updates related systems documentation for currency and complete integration.
  • Investigates and resolves moderately difficult system problems ensuring efficient effective execution of system processes. Documents problems, determines source and actions taken to resolve.
  • Creates and maintains system configuration and functionality documentation as a permanent record to maximize system maintainability.
  • Receives, refers, responds and prioritizes user requests for maximum effectiveness and utilization of department resources. Advises end users and IT professional staff on project specifications; ensures final specifications are clearly stated and follows current protocols.
  • Plans and monitors assigned projects and tasks to ensure on-time completion of tasks.
  • Contributes to departmental team activities. Promotes open and effective lines of communication between department staff and end users.
  • Participates in learning opportunities, conferences and seminars to improve interpersonal and technical skills. Develops training materials used for user and technical staff training.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or closely related discipline or equivalent work experience and education/training providing similar knowledge and skills is necessary.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant full-time experience supporting an enterprise-level administrative system is required.
  • Experience in current operating environment will be given preference.
  • Certification in systems and applications to be supported may be considered an equivalency for experience requirements.
