LOCATION - Hybrid: Orlando, FL or St. Louis, MO

We understand that life happens and strive to make it easier for employees to juggle work, family and life demands so they can define what fulfillment means to them. As part of our investment in our employees, this role is eligible to participate in Tepa's Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 2 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 2 days per week; work in-office at least 3 days per week).


ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects. The Civil Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform site development design for grading, drainage, sewer, water, erosion control, and road design
  • Lead a project team consisting of engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability
  • Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction related issues.
  • Act as a team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering work
  • Prepare, review and/or approve proposals, contracts, or cost estimates
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clients
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations
  • Research available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to utilize for the execution of required project designs
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or having passed the FE exam with ability to become licensed engineer within a year of hire preferred.
  • Previous Federal Government project design experience is strongly desired but not needed.
  • Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of design best practices
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare reports and edit proposals.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Trane Trace 700,
  • Existing local area industry and vendor relationships preferred but not desired.
  • Job requires a background check and drug test.
