Ophthalmology
Overview:
Ophthalmic assistant helps in preparing the patient to see the ophthalmologist. Responsible for taking ocular, medical, and family history, chief complaint, completes visual acuity, refraction, OCT, and other testing as necessary. This position assists the doctor in minor procedures, does pre-op measurements for cataract and other eye surgeries, schedules surgery, and assists the front desk with phones and patient messages as needed.
