St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute offers a clinical practicum in mental health. All practicum are nine-month training experiences. The approximate start date is September 16th and the approximate end date is May 30th, subject to some variation based on the student's academic schedule. Practicum experiences are typically 9-10 hours per week. We do not offer a three-month or one-semester practicum.
Center for Anxiety and OCD-Related Disorders (COARD):
Center for OCD and Anxiety-Related Disorders (COARD) practicum involves providing cognitive behavioral interventions in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for people with severe anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress, phobias, and related problems, including Major Depression. COARD practicum students are provided ongoing training in evidence-based treatments for OCD and Anxiety Disorders, led by COARD Director Alison Menatti, Ph.D.
Practicum student application deadline is February 23, 2024, with a notification date of March 22, 2024.
