Overview

Our Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for providing Payroll support, benefits administration, and consultation to TierPoint employees. They will also have exposure to benefits employee day-to-day administration. This individual will work closely with other HR team members and report to the Vice President, Human Resources.

Note: This is an on-site position. Only applicants residing in the Saint Louis metropolitan and/or surrounding areas will be considered.

Responsibilities
    Seeks ways to ensure an above-and-beyond experience from a payroll and benefits perspective for TierPoint employees.
  • Willing to go the extra mile for our TierPoint employees who may seek guidance or need assistance with their compensation and/or benefits at TierPoint.
  • Serves as a mentor to other team members, providing instruction, support, and direction.
  • Process biweekly payroll using DayForce and PayCore HR systems.
  • Set up direct deposits, W4 information, tax, deductions, commissions, and additional pay.
  • Process termination paychecks in a timely manner and according to state law.
  • Provide customer service to employees with payroll and benefits questions.
  • Prepare biweekly and unemployment claims as needed.
  • Provide benefit orientations and assist employees with insurance-related inquiries.
  • Assist with the renewal process of insurance plans and coordinate the open enrollment process.
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits.
  • Process enrollments, changes, and cancellations.
  • Handle administration of the 401(k) plan.
  • Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of payroll processing
  • Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of State laws.
  • Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize effectively, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines, along with the ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications.

Preferred Experience

  • 2-3 years of benefits administration experience.
  • Experience with Paycom, Paycore and Ceridian (Dayforce) is a plus.
  • Prior experience particularly in the data center industry.
