Job Description

TITLE: Sr. System Administrator
LOCATION: St. Louis, MO and Maryland Heights, MO

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintenance and enhancement of hardware and software systems that support field business applications. Perform server administration tasks including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring to ensure system architecture components work together seamlessly. Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including servers, firewalls, and security updates. Monitor data center health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise. Install new software releases and system upgrades. Evaluate and install patches. Resolve software related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity. Support technologies including operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware, and other software applications. Troubleshoot system issues for resolution or escalation. Create and update system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures. Assist with building, testing, and maintaining new servers. Perform routine and scheduled audits of systems, including backups.


EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 6 years of experience in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer servers and networks; 5 years of experience in programming languages and operating systems including Enterprise backup and recovery procedures, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching; 5 years of experience with troubleshooting system availability and performance issues using Linux system commands, AppDynamics, NewRelic, or DataDog; 5 years of experience with Linux shells including BASH, ZSH, and Python; 5 years of experience utilizing PERL or Ruby scripting languages in Linux; and 5 years of experience with hardware management including maintenance of company network and computer systems used to interact with network, which must include experience with firewall policy setup, Load Balancer, and DNS (Domain Naming System). A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.
