How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

A Production Operator/Cylinder Filler, you will fill high-pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, and Mixes) following compression temperature/pressure method.

This position works with the LaPorte Pure Gas Plant and team, which covers the filling of industrial-grade, research-grade, specialty mixes up to primary grade, medical devices, diving gasses, breathing air, and other blends. Our product travels throughout the Gulf Coast Region and the world.

JOB DUTIES AND INFORMATION

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

STARTING WAGE: $21/hour

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: $1.00

  • You will be fillinghigh pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical and Mixes) following compression temperature / pressure method.

  • Operate and safely maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders.

  • Perform all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released.

  • Ensure cylinders are adequately maintained - cylinders requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.

  • Regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and associated pressure gauges and monitoring devices.

  • Fill cylinders or containers to proper pressure or weight, whichever is appropriate.

  • Ensure cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations.

  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and/or trailers when required.

  • Assist with inventory, general housekeeping, and help customers when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least 6 months of Production Operator 1 experience or basic knowledge of compressed gas association, filling and handling compressed gas cylinders.

Strong background in gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Strong level of attention to detail.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
